Services Category Groups

The services sector has several sub-category groups; many of the category groups include fairly well developed industries and undeveloped industries. Most of the fairly well developed industries have a broad spectrum of businesses ranging from the most developed to the least developed:

Hospitality

  • Lodging - ranging from highly developed to undeveloped
  • Restaurants - ranging from highly developed to undeveloped
  • ...

Personal Services

  • Health Clubs - a highly developed industry
  • Beauty Shops - a highly undeveloped industry
  • ...

Leisure & Recreation Industries

A large part of social recreational dance is within the leisure and recreation services category:

  • Theme & amusement parks - very highly developed
  • Golf courses - well developed industry
  • Pool halls - a reasonably well developed component; and converged by other businesses
  • Bowling alleys - the slow resurgence is due to the re-developing state of the industry
  • Racetracks - fell behind, occassional re-developing attempts
  • Ice & Roller skating rinks - fell behind the times, undeveloped state now
  • Video rentals - mostly well developed
